Hans-Werner Huppertz  made his international debut in 1990 when he received the first price at the international competition for guitar “Seto Ohashi” in Okayama/Japan and the second price at the 33^rd international guitar competition in Tokyo. Since then he has been a solo player and a chamber musician all over the world. At the same time he has become a lecturer of numerous master courses and a member of juries for international competitions.

The artist Hans-Werner Huppertz is particularly interested in studying and playing the original repertoire of the guitar which he is constantly trying to increase, among others, by seizing the suggestions of modern works.

Besides giving concerts he is professor for guitar at the academy of music in Cologne/department Aachen.

He is the art director of the guitar festival “Aachener Gitarrenpreis” and the reputable concert series “Accordate” in Aachen.
